From everyone here at the Kings Arms, we hope to see you soon and can’t wait to welcome you to our pub!
The Kings Arms pub in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex, is a Grade II listed building, positioned prominently on the corner of Station Road and Chapel Hill, in the centre of our special village.
Our unique pub is in keeping with the building’s historical surroundings and even has a small Gothic tower in the form of a mini castle, adding plenty of charm to the exterior.
The whole building - inside and out - has recently benefited from a complete refurbishment, bringing our facilities up-to-date without losing any of the pub’s character.
The Kings Arms is an important part of the community here in Stansted Mountfitchet. The village itself has a great location, just 35 miles north of London (served by Stansted Mountfitchet railway station) and also just a couple of miles away from Stansted Airport.
Stansted (meaning ‘stony place’ in Anglo-Saxon) was a Saxon settlement, predating the Norman conquest, and was ruled by Robert Gernon de Montfichet (from Montfiquet in Calvados, Normandy), from where the village gets its name.
Local attractions include Mountfitchet Castle, a replica built on the site of Norman Motte and Bailey castle, the House on the Hill Toy Museum (reportedly the world's largest toy museum); the village also boasts the beautiful 12th century St Mary the Virgin's Church, as well as rolling countryside walks right on the doorstep.
But whatever brings you here, we’re sure our guests will find the Kings Arms to be a welcoming and relaxing pub right at the heart of this peaceful village.
